The Ninth Gate (1999) is a European-production movie, directed by Roman Polanski. It is a neo-noir, mystery thriller about the rare book business, wherein rare-book dealer Dean Corso (Johnny Depp) is hired by bibliophile Boris Balkan (Frank Langella) to validate a seventeenth-century copy of The Nine Gates of the Kingdom of Shadows, by Aristide Torchia, and what he encounters en route.
Yeah, so basically that and a whole lot of mindfuck mixed together into the perfect Saturday Night film. Has a lot in it about the devil, a lot of mysteries and even a devil's servant who helps him on his quest. It's awesome.
